DECR Chairman addressed the XV General Assembly of the Christian Conference of Asia

On 29th September, aged eighty-one, colleague of the translation service of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Zinaida Ivanovna Nosova reposed in the Lord. She had dedicated more than fifty years of her life to the service of the Church.

On September 27, the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of St. Philip the Apostle in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates.

DECR Chairman meets representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church expelled from Bulgaria

On September 25 in the Department for External Church Relations, the meeting took place between DECR Chairman Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk with dean of the metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sofia archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), metochion secretary archpriest Yevgeny Pavelchuk, and metochion staff member Vladimir Bonko, who were deported from Bulgaria on September 21 following an unjustified decision by Bulgarian authorities.

On August 31 – September 1, visiting the Metropolitanate of Smolensk was a delegation fr om the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church consisting of Metropolitan Zachariah Mar Nicholovos of the Northeast American Diocese, co-chairman of the Working Group for Coordinating Bilateral Relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Malankara Church, and Metropolitan Abraham Mar Stephanos of the Diocese of United Kingdom, Europe and Africa.

On September 1, DECR Chairman Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk met at the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations with the rector of the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church of America, Archpriest Daniel Andreyuk, and Fr. Alexander Koranda, rector of the Trinity Cathedral in Chicago, director of the diocesan communication department and the department for the seminarians’ affairs, who is on a pilgrimage in Russia.
